Kathryn Robb, Esq.

Executive Director

Kathryn Robb is a lawyer, legislative advocate, and law instructor who has been fighting to pass meaningful child sex abuse legislation across the country for over 16 years. As an outspoken survivor of child sexual abuse, Kathryn continues to use her voice to implement common-sense legislative change at both the state and federal level to end child abuse and neglect and to enact victim friendly legislation. The initiatives of CHILD USAdvocacy included reforming SOLs for child abuse and neglect, ending FGM, ending conversion therapy for LGBTQ youth, ending exemptions for childhood vaccinations, ending child marriage and family court reform. She regularly testifies before legislative committees, writes opinions for local and national press and appears on news outlets at the local and national level. A co-founder of New Yorkers Against Hidden Predators, a coalition of organizations, advocates, and sex abuse survivors from across New York. Kathryn worked closely with New York state lawmakers to finally pass the New York Child Victims Act, after a 12-year hard-fought battle the bill was signed into law on February 14, 2019. Kathryn is a lawyer by trade specializing in drafting legislation, legislative advocacy, sexual abuse laws and SOL reform. Kathryn has spent over 28 years as a law instructor preparing law students for writing component the bar exam, she specializes in non-traditional learners and ESL populations. Kathryn is a board member and legislative advocate for the nonprofit Massachusetts Citizens for Children, and she was instrumental in the SOL change to MA General Laws in 2014. She is a member of the Massachusetts bar. Kathryn is also a certified trainer for the MassKids Enough Abuse campaign, training the trainer program.

Kathryn has been involved in local youth sports in her community and has coached basketball at the youth, middle school, high school, and AAU levels. She received her Juris Doctor from New England Law| Boston and Master of Science (MS) focused on Clinical Counseling and Applied Psychology from the University of Hartford. She lives in central Connecticut with her wife and family.

Kathryn is passionately committed to employing the rule of law and sound public policy to uphold the dignity and protection of all children, while holding those who harm children fully accountable under both criminal and civil law.

Miranda Jones-Davidis

Postgraduate Fellow and Assistant to the Executive Director

Miranda Jones-Davidis graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University in May 2022 with a B.A. in Political Science. At Barnard, she worked at the Barnard Digital Humanities Center and volunteered at Legal Hand Crown Heights, where she assisted community members seeking legal information. In addition, she worked with undocumented high schoolers applying for college and with incarcerated people seeking justice. Miranda hopes to go to law school and pursue a career in public service. She is excited to be part of the CHILD USAdvocacy team!

Lauren Nonnemaker, Esq.

Staff Attorney

Lauren comes to CHILD USAdvocacy with a commitment to and extensive experience working on child welfare issues. Lauren began her career as a paralegal at a private family law firm while earning her B.A. in Criminal Justice from DeSales University. Upon graduation, Lauren joined the Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network Legal Services Initiative where she received specialized training in juvenile dependency which inspired her to pursue a legal career in child welfare.

Lauren attended Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law, 2-year accelerated JD program, as a Rising Advocate Merit Scholar where she earned two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards and served as a Dean’s Scholar before graduating in 2017. Lauren then returned to the world of juvenile dependency, joining the Montgomery County Office of the Public Defender Child Advocate Unit where she served as guardian ad litem and legal counsel to hundreds of abused, neglected, and ungovernable children.

Afterward, Lauren’s dedication to child welfare brought her to CHILD USA where she had the opportunity to review legislation, craft policies, provide judicial training, and draft written testimony on children’s rights issues at the state and federal level.

Lauren then entered into private practice where she continues to focus on children’s issues including custody, adoption, and protection from abuse. She is also an adjunct professor at Villanova University where she teaches multiple courses, including family law, to students in the Paralegal Professional Program.

Lauren previously served as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Children’s Rights Committee and Legislative Sub-Committee and was also actively involved with the Education Law Committee of the Montgomery County Bar Association in her then capacity as Vice-Chair. Lauren is also active in her community having served on youth sports organizations and on the Home and School Association Board.

Anna Nuler

Spring Intern

Anna Nuler (she/her) graduated from Bard College in the spring of 2022, she majored in Political Studies and Photography. Since graduating, Anna has worked as a Legislative Aide at the Texas House of Representatives and most recently served as a Government Relations Manager. Anna is passionate about child advocacy, she has worked as a nanny since high school and wishes to continue serving children through advocacy and policy research. In the next few years, Anna is planning on getting her Master's Degree in Public Policy or a related field.

 

Qiaoxuan Wang

Spring Intern

Qiaoxuan Wang (she/her) is a driven scholar with an expertise in policy analysis and data analytics. She received her Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania for a Master's degree in social policy + data analytics. Qiaoxuan worked as an analyst in the department of children's development at a prominent think tank, where she was responsible for a national school feeding program in China. Qiaoxuan is determined to become a leading scholar in the field of child protection and environmental issues.
